Zyria Martell, DSW-C, ACSW
Doctoral Candidate | Clinical Social Worker | Veteran Advocate
With over a decade of dedicated service in the U.S. Air Force Reserve and a passion for mental health advocacy, Zyria Martell is a Doctor of Social Work (DSW) candidate at California Baptist University. She holds a Master of Social Work from CBU and is currently completing her dissertation on the critical issue of high suicide rates among veterans—a topic close to her heart and central to her mission.
As an Associate Clinical Social Worker and Clinical Therapist with Riverside University Health System’s Mobile Crisis team, Zyria provides frontline mental health support to individuals in crisis, specializing in rapid response and compassionate care. Her work bridges the gap between clinical practice and veteran advocacy, aiming to create lasting change in the lives of those she serves.
Zyria’s career is driven by her commitment to empowering marginalized communities, promoting resilience, and shaping the next generation of social workers. She envisions a future where mental health services are accessible, stigma-free, and tailored to the unique needs of each individual—especially those who have served in the military.
When she’s not working on her research or supporting clients, Zyria enjoys sharing her life experiences to inspire others and foster a community of strength and hope.
